OOOOklahoma

I've been gone for "a minute" from the blog. Summer is here, and we are having a great time hanging out. We got back last night after a 17 and a half hour driving marathon from Oklahoma. We had such a good time, and the easiest way to share pics is to just post them here. We headed out last Tuesday and stayed in Tupelo, Mississippi for the night. We haven't attempted a big road trip with the boys until now, and we didn't want to arrive in Oklahoma with screaming children. Tupelo was pretty much the half way point, so we arrived early, swam, and went to dinner. Then, on to Oklahoma the next day!

The boys had such a fun time playing with cousins, grandparents, and all the other family we don't get to see often. Bartlesville is a great town for kiddos with all the parks, the free splash pad (which was great and I didn't take my camera), and the Kiddie Park. The Kiddie Park is a little amusement park for little kids where all the rides cost 50 cents - which Jason's mom  informed me was inflated from a quarter to cover the repairs to the carousel after it was vandalized. The boys were in heaven!!! The adults - not as much - only because it was about 98 degrees and 100% humidity. Can you say back sweat??? Wow...

We got to hang out with Jason's family on Friday night. It was so cool to see everyone. His uncle hosted everyone at his house, and we all enjoyed his wife's delicious food. I didn't get pictures, but I should say that Uncle Boody and his wife, Diane, brought goodies for the boys. They brought OU stuff and OSU stuff and let our boys pic their favorite. Well, of course Tucker and Jake picked OU stuff, and our little defector, Connor, proudly put on his orange jersey. His daddy was not pleased. Haha. He insisted on wearing it to bed the next 2 nights and told us when we got home we had to have team practice.
Connor and his boo-boo he showed EVERYONE who would listen about the bandaid that made his arm move again

Connor and his new best friend, Tommy. Two of a kind...
We got to celebrate sweet Adelaide turning one. She cracked me up because she was so dainty to begin with when she got a taste of cake, then the girl got INTO it!

That's more like it.

We also got to attend Jason's 20th class reunion. He went to school with some great people that I had the pleasure of meeting. In fact, one of his classmates dropped of a "busy bag" of stuff for the car ride home for my boys. All three boys had turns playing with things from that bag. It was great!!

All in all, it was such a fun trip. We will NOT be waiting so long to do it again!

We awoke this morning at 8:30 (although the wild middle child didn't get up for another hour) which is a miracle if you know my children. The boys have played with their toys all day long like they just found a stash of new toys. There is one happy dog on the rug beside me, and the cat was happy until the dog got home. She is a little miffed at the moment because I think she was hoping that our sole reason for going to Oklahoma was to drop off a dog :)
