What We've Been Doing

Well, we are finally (I think) settling into some sort of routine around here. Jake seems to get that his brother isn't going anywhere, and for now the jealousy seems to be fading. He has become more interested in Connor and usually manages to give hugs and kisses to his little brother now. I have yet to actually capture one on camera since I am usually holding a baby or something like that - haha. The weekend was nice since we had Jason home, and on Sunday we ventured out downtown to just wander around. Springtime has sprung here in Savannah, and I thought I would include a few pics. In honor of St. Patrick's Day, the fountain in Forsyth Park has been turned green. I will be avoiding downtown at all costs this weekend since Savannah hosts one of the country's largest St. Paddy's Day celebrations and all the college kiddos will be drinking their socks off all over town. (Well, they will probably be drinking more than their socks off, but you get the drift).

Poor Connor was knocked out in the stroller behind us. Trust me, you do not wake a sleeping baby for a photo op.

This is Jake doing his "freeze it" face. I used to do the same one when I was little, and he has it mastered :)
All the azaleas in bloom in the park. It is beautiful here!!!!
We let Jake play at the playground for a bit, had a cupcake from a little shop, and just toodled around.

This is how Connor enjoyed the trip

In the world of weight loss, I managed to lose 6 lbs on the first week of Weight Watchers. Gina's Skinny Taste website provided most of the recipes we tried last week. I did mention most of them in the last post, but I made her skinny garlic mashed potatoes and the Salisbury steak which were pretty good. Tonight, we are having a roast chicken in the crockpot (from Pinterest), roasted asparagus, and carrots/squash that I have mentioned on here before. I have to plan meals for next week soon, and I will post on here if I find any standout recipes.

Connor is a pretty laid back little man until his diaper gets wet or dirty. Aside from changing what feels like 100 diapers a day, I can't imagine why I ever thought this stage was hard. I mean, he stays where you put him, he doesn't talk, and he mostly sleeps!!! How easy is that. In all seriousness, it is funny how much your perspective changes with the second baby. With Jake, it's not that I thought that the newborn stage was hard - I was just so freaking tired. Now, I guess my body has learned to survive on a more limited amount of sleep so my system isn't as shocked. For now, I will wrap this up. I have to manage to free up some disk space on the laptop by deleting some pics on here. Jake will be awake here shortly so I must go be productive. I will leave you with a few shots of C as he sat on my lap downloading pics ;)

Enough with the camera!!!!
