In Desperate Need of a Do Over

It has SERIOUSLY been "one of those days." I feel like I should add a disclaimer to this. I know that in the grand scheme of things, all of this is no big deal. I know that there a people with actual problems (not the ones about to be listed). But have you ever had a day where it all seemed to go to pot from the minute you woke up? Okay, let's begin...

I had to inform Jason this morning around 7 am that we had broken up. I had one of those very real dreams that can make you quite ill first thing in the morning. I dreamed that Jason had broken up with me, wouldn't even take a phone call or reply to a text, and was seeing someone else. He was quite shocked to learn all this had happened while he was asleep, but I assured him that, in fact, it did and I was quite unhappy about it.

From there, the boys got up and got fed and dressed. All that happened quite uneventfully. We decided to head over to Home Depot to pick up some rocking chairs for the front porch. Jason was going to take the truck to bring them back, and I loaded the kiddos in the van. I noticed the tire pressure light was on and got out to check on it. This was what I found:

Yep, the Swagger Wagon suffered its first wound. We called the service center, they sent a tow truck, and the nail hole got patched. Jason rode to the dealership to wait, and I am soooo thankful that he was home this morning to take care of that. Meanwhile, at the hacienda, Jake managed to run into the wall (yes, the wall) and cut his hand and get a giant red mark on his hip. I still have no idea what happened. Connor proved OVER and OVER that he was in the throws of the terrible two's while Jake ran around pointing out that he was not doing whatever Connor was doing. Motrin, anyone? Then my sweet Tucker got in on the action by wailing loudly for some unseen reason. Sweet baby Jesus, what did I do to earn this treat???

Jason got home with the van and its full-o-air tire. By this time, I had said multiple bad words. I had texted him at one point while he was gone to say that I had given up and just turned on the TV. I really try not to do much TV during the day with the boys. They usually watch it when I am making dinner but not a ton other than then. I informed Jason I no longer care today about brain stimulation, I just wanted quiet for longer than 30 seconds. He texted back to inform me that survival was more important than brain development anyway. Love him...

After getting put down for naps a full 30 minutes early, I set out to pick up the rocking chairs since J was back at home. Tucker and I trucked it (literally) on over to Home Depot. They had 2 black rocking chairs left which I thought must mean my luck was improving because that was exactly what I needed. I went in to pay for them and informed the girl I had a military ID. Okay, let me clarify. I do have a military ID, and it is expired. However, I could have another - I just haven't taken the time to go on base and get it. I have NEVER had anyone check the date, so I really don't ever think about it. Guess who checked it today? I know this chick was doing her job, but seriously???? SOOOO, I went to the other Home Depot where they were more than happy to sell me my black rocking chairs. Now I have to find time to go get that ID updated.

The bright spot of the afternoon was going to the playground. Thank you, Martha, for a few moments of calm. I did, however, manage to get pooped on from a bird on the way to the playground. Yep, that's right. Why not, right? Granted, it was like sparrow poop or finch poop versus bald eagle poop, but still. The boys played and except for eating one lady's snacks (which she was giving them, by the way) they were pretty good. That ended when we got back in the golf cart. During the 10 minute or less ride home, they shoved each other a few times, Tucker screamed the whole way, and I was pretty sure that we would have a flat/get hit by one of the construction vehicles/lose another shoe, etc. I pretty much skipped dinner in favor of alcohol. I said earlier I was going to have a big glass of red wine. Guess who doesn't have any red wine in the house??? There are bottles upon bottles of white which I don't drink and no red. I chugged sipped a beer and am contemplating another. A nice shower and a lot of prayers that tomorrow will be better are in order. J is on nights, and I feel some stress eating coming on. This after I just bought a smaller pant size yesterday...
