A Fab Five

On May 17th, Jason and I celebrated five years of marriage. Cuh-razy, I tell you. In the past five years, we have moved 3 times between 2 states, gone through Jason finishing residency, had 2 babies, and now we have one more on the way. Along the way, we picked up a bobtail Siamese. It has been a wonderful ride. It also has really hit me lately just how blessed we are. We celebrated our actual anniversary downtown with a lunch from Zunzi's on a picnic bench in Oglethorpe Square. Here is Connor's "Makayla Unimpressed" look:

I had the Conquistador sandwich which won awards as one of the best sandwiches in the country

I know what you're thinking, "Wow, how could they top that as an anniversary date?" Well, being the wild and crazy kids that we are, we went to dinner a few nights later. We went to dinner, left in a haste because the embryo was making my meal feel as though it wanted to return to the surface, and went to Wal-Mart to pick up a few groceries. That's right, what's a date if you don't head out to get groceries after dinner? Romance at its finest, I tell ya...

And can I just say that this little person growing inside me now is putting a hurting on this Mama. Ugh...nausea, nausea, a little indigestion, and more nausea. Jake cheered me on as I threw up the other morning. Seriously, he stood at the door, pumping his fist in the air, yelling, "Great job, Mama. You threw up in the potty. Do it again." I wish I were making that up.The boys ran around like this most of the other day. Don't judge:

Their Mama may or may not have been just as fancy dressed- well, minus the diaper and all :)
It seems there have been many "firsts" lately, as well. Jake got to go fishing for the first time the other day. On Saturday, there was a kids fishing derby. We rode the golf cart over and spent about an hour fishing. Jake caught about 10 fish then got bored.

Just before we got started - the look of concentration

Reeling in the first catch

It's a beaut!!!!
I will admit, the country girl came out at the fishing derby. I love fishing but haven't done it in forever, so it was great to put a worm on the hook and help Jakey out :)

Today, was another "first". It was the Jason and the boys' first times on a smaller boat in the ocean. We went with some friends over to Wassaw Island and spent the morning playing around on the beach. Both boys were worn out, but only Jake felt the need to take a proper nap. Someone was too wound up and cried most of nap time...

Just in case you are wondering, it is mating season for the horseshoe crab

My sweet little man is getting so big
This afternoon, I had 2 grumpy hooligans on my hands. Jason was at the hospital for a quick meeting, so we took a golf cart ride. We spotted a mama deer and her two babies crossing the lagoon. We came back for the camera. Jake rode around yelling, "Deers, come out. We need to take your picture. Then you can go play." Well, the "deers" got the message and did present themselves for a quick photo op.

Jason just got up to put Jakey to bed. The poor little man was so tired. He had been watching Dora for the past 30 minutes, and had tears running down his face from being so tired and staring instead of blinking. I will say the day has been a success.
