Family Vacation

Don't let the title of the post fool you into thinking I want to go anywhere with my family. I told Jason I needed a family vacation the other day. He laughed and said, "You mean a vacation from your family, don't you?" What can I say, the man knows me well. Haha. We have all been sick with this crud, and even Jason who never gets sick has it now. Poor Connor has a runny nose and an intermittent fever now, too. Well, damn...

Poor Jason has been working nights, and thankfully tonight is his last night. Then he is off for several days. I could use my tag team partner back, fo sho! Connor hasn't been sleeping, and Jake has been waking up around 6:30, so there is no rest for the weary around here. Say some prayers for us that we feel better soon.

I interrupt this post to ponder another weird TV moment. I am sitting here with the Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr. Mind you, my child is in the bed, but I haven't turned it off since he went to bed. Those darn Fresh Beats will get in your head! Anyway, I just saw Sugarland dancing with the Yo Gabba Gabba crew. Weird...

I will take a few minutes to brag on my big boy. That would be Jake, not Jason - haha. He went to "camp" this week. It was at the church where he will start a 2 day a week preschool in the fall. This Mama needed a little while with only one child, and I knew Jake would love it. So when we found out that they were offering a week session June 4-8, we signed him up. I originally was going to use that time to paint a full wall stencil like this:

Instead, I spent a lot of time napping on the couch due to the crud that struck. However, Jake had a blast at camp. It was each morning from 9-12. Every morning he ran in the classroom and looked over his shoulder saying, "Bye-bye." Well, nothing like that to make you feel loved. haha I am so glad he liked it. All the teachers there told me how much they enjoyed him and how well adjusted he is. I think each one told me (whether he was in their class or not) how much he liked to dance. No kidding!! It made me feel really good that he had such a good time and loved going. They even bragged on him for following instructions and doing exactly what he was supposed to be doing. Well, get outta town! One day when we got home, I thought he was telling me that he had pooped. Instead, he hadn't pooped, but was telling me he needed to go. We went to the potty, and he managed to poop in the potty!! And today, he walked over and said teetee. We got the diaper off and sat on there in time to pee in the potty as well. I haven't been even thinking about potty training, and to be honest, right now I am still not. I am going to get him to try to go on the potty a few times a day and when he tells me he wants to. Okay, enough bragging on Jakey :)

I probably should nap right now since I have a feeling C might not be the best sleeper tonight, but this is the first time today when I haven't been holding someone. It is nice, and I think I will just chill on the couch for a while. I changed the look of the blog the other night, and I can't get the darn picture the right size. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know. I got frustrated and just gave up the other night. I am going for now to enjoy some quiet time while I can.
