On Our Own

We survived!!!!! Haha - our first day without Jason home since Connor arrived, that is. One down, two more to go before Jason gets to have a day off. Hopefully, the next two will go just as smoothly as today. I thought about it early this morning, so I took out the camera to capture our day in pictures. I didn't do as well as I had hoped, but it was a little busy.

I decided that since Jason had to work at 8 am it would be easier to get up and shower before he left. So, 6 am was wake up time for Connor and me. By the time Jake got up, I had showered, bathed Connor, had breakfast, washed a load of clothes, and prepared Jake's breakfast. I was on quite the little high this morning feeling like I had conquered the world. Connor chilled out on the counter in his bouncy seat while all this was going on.
Okay, these pics are unedited. The lighting in here is horrible - don't worry - he was nice and pink. This pic makes him look cyanotic.

Finishing off breakfast with some apples and a fake smile, haha
After breakfast, we moved on to Jake's room to play. Connor was knocked OUT so he hung out in the crib while Jake and I colored.

Even though it was raining, I packed us up and headed to Chick-fil A for lunch. After lunch and a nap Jake had a snack of bananas and marshmallows. He was a fan of this plan.
We played more, fed Connor, made dinner, and just hung out. Someone, aka the Jakeman, is VERY interested in breastfeeding right now. I mean, stand on your tiptoes to investigate interested. It is pretty funny. He did muster up a kiss for Connor today. Jason made it home from work in time to chat with Jake while he was in the tub and take over for video time. Here are most of the boys - Jason, Jake, and Peanut - watching a little Blues Clues before bedtime.

C was TOTALLY into Blues Clues, too

It was a good day. I am hoping that we all get some good rest tonight and that the next two days go as smoothly. Jake has gone from being a "baby" to being a big boy in our eyes in the span of about 5 days. It is kind of crazy. Wish us luck that we survive the next two days without any major hiccups. It is now 9:25, and all I can think about is the bed. Goodnight to all.
