Tis the Season....Again

It's been over a year since I started the blog, and I have enjoyed sharing my thoughts, recipes, and photos with everyone. The first post was all about Christmas cards - haha. You can read the post here. My sweet husband is always quite vocal about the cards, and I would like to say thank you to each and every one of you for the beautiful cards. Jason would like to say thank you to all who chose to put the entire family on the card - haha. My goal last year was to lose weight and be cute for this year's card. Well, I did lose weight. I lost all the baby weight and then some, and then somehow I found myself with a big ole belly all over again. I guess Jason thought the new wifey was hot, too :) Anyway, I guess there is always next year for the skinny card. And Lord help us all if I am pregnant again by that time!!!!

It has been a wild time around here, and I haven't posted since Thanksgiving. Jason's family came into town, and then my family came into town. The girl who never puts her camera down became the girl who didn't pick it up. I don't have any pics from the visits and am really irritated with myself. I must get better at Christmas. I have to fire up the charger to make sure that the camera and video camera batteries are good and charged for Christmas morning. I can't wait to see Jake's face then :)

Jason and I have been looking at houses again, but we haven't found anything just yet. We have time to take our time to find the perfect place, so it is an exciting time. I have some ideas for blogs coming up, and one of them in particular involves me jumping on a personal soapbox for a moment. I thought I would get less fired up about it, but so far it hasn't happened. Beware, an uncensored rant may be coming. I think I can hold off until after Jesus's birthday :)

The Pioneer Woman issued a Holiday Bokeh alert on her photography blog. Bokeh refers to the background blur in photographs. She has a holiday bokeh contest each year for her blog, so I was working on submissions. I tried to create a candycane bokeh filter tonight and just about lost my mind. I now have a monster headache. Here are some of the results:

I hope that each and every one of you reading this has a wonderful Christmas. I am so thankful to be where we are right now and am looking forward to all the excitement this next year will bring. Until next time, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you!!!
