Just an old sweet song...

It's been a while since the last post, so I've got some catching up to do. I have officially been a slacker on the photo challenge, so I don't have anything to add there. I plan to get back in the game this week. The only problem is that the theme for the week is "Spring Fever." Apparently, the person who came up with the theme DOES NOT live in the South or else they would have gotten the memo that Spring started several months ago :)

Well, the past two weeks have been busy ones. First, let me show you a picture of the little man in the pool. This little beaut cost me $10 at Wal-Mart, and is perfect for the Jakeman. He loved it!!
Holy cow! This baby can move!! This is what happened when I took his swim trunks off to put his clothes back on. In the two seconds I turned around to get clothes, he had made it across the room and had pulled up on his crib.

Last Saturday, we had the 3rd annual Crawfish Boil at Coach O's (Dr. Orledge) house. The wonderful Lebas family came and cooked a whole bunch of crawfish, and it was yummy. A great time was had by all. Jason and I sort of had a date day since Jason's mom, aka Gammy, was in town to keep Jake while we went to Savannah to house hunt. So it was fun in the sun with a drink (or two) (or three) in our hands to enjoy some crawfish. This is one of the things that I will miss after moving. Crawfish and friends that we have gotten close with in the past 3 years will be missed :)

On Sunday, it was Mother's Day and we packed up to head to Savannah. I won't disclose what the present was on here, but I will say that Jason did VERY well for Mother's Day. I was totally surprised and shocked ;) I love that man. And let me just say that Savannah is a LONG drive from Brandon, MS. We got there that evening around 6. We found a great deal on rooms on Priceline and stayed at The Mansion on Forsyth Park. It is wonderful, and if anyone wants a nice hotel in Savannah, I would definately recommend it.

I had forgotten just how beautiful Savannah is. Seriously, Spanish moss in the trees, the beach just minutes away, the artsy crowd - it is heavenly. I still can't believe that I am going to get to call it home. I wished I could always see Savannah through the eyes of a tourist because when you look at things everyday, you simply forget to appreciate how beautiful it all is.

Anyway, we looked at houses all day Monday. We saw around 16 houses. Tuesday was about looking at the top 4 again. Wednesday was about being tourists. We took care of some business that morning, then went for a drive on Bluff Drive, had several drinks at the hotel, walked from Forsyth Park to River Street, and took a ghost tour. It was wonderful to have some time to hang just with Jason, too. Jake was back in Mississippi hanging with Gammy and Aunt Susan, so there were no worries about him. In the end, we put an offer in on a house, and as of a few moments ago, officially signed the counter-offer. We should be under contract here in a few if all goes well. Whew! And that should get us all caught up. I will leave you all with a few images from the trip - all touristy Savannah photos, mind you.
