Do you see this?
Those tiny white things are my feet, and truthfully, I had to hold the camera out to see them because I can't see them anymore. I am 36 weeks and six days preggo at this point, and this is the day in my first pregnancy when I delivered. I was desperately hoping the Connor would have Jake's sense of timing, but alas - he has his own plan. We had an ultrasound last week, and little Connor looks SO much like Jake did on his 3D ultrasound. Here is Connor's ultrasound picture followed by a picture of Jake getting his bath in the nursery. They look VERY similar.
We spend a large amount of time reading and playing. I have learned that school buses can also double as farm transportation. Duh...
And I have learned that an 18 month old leaves quite a path of destruction!
We have been busy in the house hunting department, and hopefully we will have an end to the search soon. The other afternoon we saw a beautiful house that the owner had to show us since the agent was unavailable. This man had to tell us exactly how much money he spent on every detail. Apparently, when Jason and I went to walk around the yard, he commented to our agent, "I sure hope they are qualified." Our agent knew we would get a kick out of this, so she told us that she assured him we were more than qualified to be looking at his house. My husband got a huge kick out of this since he had told me to look "poor and pregnant" (haha) the day before when we looked at a house. I don't know if the owner thought we were too young too be able to afford his house or if he thought we looked too poor to be looking at his property, but it was amusing to both of us. And honestly, his house didn't have the space we were looking for, anyway.
We joke a lot about fitting in, and how we just don't care about many of the things that people here do. We drive Toyotas that are paid for not luxury vehicles. I honestly enjoy buying furniture or things from Craigslist or Goodwill or wherever to fix up or paint. I don't like to spend a fortune on boutique clothes for my children because Target has cute things that they will outgrow at the same rate as the boutique clothes. We aren't trying to compete with the Joneses, the Smiths, or anyone else. We are trying to be happy and as debt-free as possible. As much as the man drives me crazy sometimes, I am so thankful I found someone who "gets me." Now that I have rambled on down a path I didn't intend to go, I will sign off for now and hope that baby Connor gets the memo that his entrance to the world is a more than welcome event. Hopefully, the next time I write, it will be with news of our new addition being here.
