Hanging a Picture Collage

I used to never hang pictures in a grouping where they needed to be hung even remotely looking lined up because I could never do it without making a thousand holes in the wall. Then, one day I was watching HGTV and saw this method. It has worked great!!! Jason was even impressed at how easy it was. Granted, it does work best with 2 people for lining things up, but I did this one all by my lonesome. Is it lined up perfectly? Umm..no. But that is okay with me. First, gather your supplies. You will need:
A level - preferably a laser level and a regular one.
Freezer or wax paper
Pictures in frames
Hammer
Nails or Picture Hangers
Painter's tape or other quick release tape

Okay, to get started, line the top of the frame with the top edge of the freezer paper and trace the outline of the picture onto it. Please do not look at my messy countertops. This project was done in the middle of a cleaning frenzy.

Cut out the outline and line up the back of the frame with the paper. Find the hanger on the frame and use a nail, pen, or other sharp object to make a small hole where the nail will go.
If you have different photos that you want to place in a certain order, be sure to label your outlines so that the outlines match the picture. Even though I did use the same type of frame, I still cut out 4 different outlines because there can be variations in each frame.

Okay, here was my problem wall. I know that it would look a lot better if I chose to measure a middle point, etc. Honestly, I am fine just eyeballing it.

You will want to place the first outline on the wall in the place you want it, level it off, then place the painter's tape in the corners to keep it in one place. Next, move on the the next outline and use the laser level to make it level with the top of the other photo. I, then, used the hand level to make sure the individual outline was level. The bottom 2 outlines I lined up the nail holes first, then used the hand level to level off the pictures. (I hope all this makes sense). Your project should look something like this at this point:
Now, nail your nails or picture hangers in the appointed spots.

Take off the outlines one by one and hang your photos. Here are 2 pictures of my completed project. They aren't perfect, but they will do nicely for now. I have used this method to line up pictures all over my house. Although it is time consuming, it is much easier than having nail holes all over your wall to patch and repaint.
