Good grief! I swear I don't remember the time that we moved to Mississippi being this crazy, and I am sure it wasn't. There was no house to sell, no busy-as-a-bee 9 month old, no 2 job working husband, no packing on my part (since it was a military move), etc. Throw those things into the mix, and, "Houston, we have a problem." It has been a whirlwind, and it is quickly coming to an end. I have been interviewing movers, and hopefully my intuition will prove to be good. The guy I picked has a small company, and seemed like a straight-up, honest type of guy. If all of our stuff gets damaged, remind me that my intuition sucks. I also thought it would be a better idea to save some money by packing our non-breakable items. And what am I doing now while the baby is napping? Ummm, not packing. I must get on the ball.
Jason reminded me the other day that in about one month, we will be Savannah bound. Now, as excited as I am to get settled into our new house, it sort of seems surreal that all of this is taking place so soon. Speaking of the new house, here is a picture of the new place:
I can't wait to get there and make it our home. Painters have been contacted to take away the horrible peach color that is now in the dining room and to make the main living area more our taste. I have been busy decorating the house mentally.
Jake is growing like a weed and changing so much. He was almost 22 lbs. yesterday at his 9 month visit and 28.5 inches long. He is a speedy little man when it comes to crawling, and he is pulling up on everything now. Da-da is his favorite word, and SOMEONE could not be happier to hear it. I am waiting for my turn patiently. Dr. Penny said that she thought he would probably be walking around 11 months, so we will see. I wish that I could rewind a little to the time where he stayed where you put him, but he is so stinking cute right now that the thought doesn't last long.
Okay, for those who are concerned after seeing this picture, I do not dress my child like this. He was wearing his little overall shorts the other day, and when we got ready for bath time, I commented that if he had his shirt off and had on a do-rag, he would look like Bruce from Swamp People. Sooo.... I thought it was a picture opportunity. I caught the tail end of my favorite new expression. He shuts his little eyes and scrunches his nose in a sort of fake smile. So. Stinking. Cute. Anyway, I should stop typing and go be productive. Oh, yeah, the title of the photo challenge last week was "Spring Fever." As I said, I have been uninspired with my submissions as of late. Here is the submission for that theme.
