All over the place...

Ramble session ahead. Okay, you've been warned. Today has been a whirlwind of activity. We started the morning bright and early, and off the groomer Peanut went to get his hair shaved. Thankfully, Jason did this because I was not ready to go out in public at 7 am. The grooming visit was going to originally occur last week, but Peanut started limping and almost $300 later we found out that he has torn ligaments in both knees. I just didn't have the heart to send him to the groomer after spending the day at the vet, so we rescheduled. The poor Nut is getting old, and he has been definitely been a big part of each day. When I got him, I joked that I was going to buy a loyal man since I couldn't seem to find one anywhere else, and he has been a loyal companion for over 8 years :) Of course, he is just as much Jason's dog now as mine, and I don't think I would have it any other way. Here is a picture of a pissed off, shorn doggy :)

Once I was actually presentable, I rented a carpet cleaner and cleaned all the carpets in the house. I know this sounds crazy, but clean carpets make me happy. Clean everything makes me happy. Since I couldn't clean the bedroom carpet while Jason was sleeping, I rearranged and cleaned out the laundry room. I am slowly trying to do some things to get our house ready to go on the market. That was one spot that needed to be tackled, and I wish I had taken some before and after pictures. You will just have to take my word when I say it looks MUCH better.

I guess I shouldn't toot my own horn too much. I didn't make dinner tonight as we had tons of food left from earlier in the week. I made some WW chicken salad yesterday, and it was really good. It reminded me alot of the Atlanta Grilled Chicken Salad that Kroger in Macon used to sell that I loved so much. Anyhoo, I played Mommy until the Jakeman was ready for bed, cleaned the carpet in the bedroom, ate some dinner, and attempted to apply rub and buff paint to the bathroom light fixtures. I quickly decided that that was one project for another day (as was the baby food that will be made tomorrow). I did ,however, find this on a blog yesterday. I was reading the blog of a friend of a friend because my attention was drawn to a recipe. Turns out, it's a blog full of WW recipes from a girl who has been doing it for years. She posted the link to one ingredient banana ice cream. I made it tonight, and it was yummy. The only suggestions I have was to make sure that you have ripe bananas. I had what I thought were ripe bananas but were only really bruised green ones. They worked but were a little tart. Also, I tried the blender to no avail and pulled out my mini food chopper which worked wonders. The directions can be found here. Doesn't it look yummy?

In other Lowe family news, Lucy the kitty seems to have adjusted quite well into the fam. She is quite the little firecracker and has no problem telling you exactly when she doesn't like something in the form of hissing. Most of the time, she turns into jello when you pick her up. She allows herself to be held in very non-kitty like positions and doesn't seem to mind at all. When she purrs, she drools like crazy. One day soon I have to whip out the camera and get a picture of this because it truly is disgusting. She paid her "rent" for February in the form of a tiny, disemboweled mouse that she dropped on the deck for us. She charges at poor Peanut when he attempts to come back inside, and he cowers in fear (probably saw what she did to the mouse).  I think it's her version of a sick, sadistic game that she plays with the dog :)

Jason and I booked a cruise to join almost all the senior residents and their spouses. It should be one fun trip considering the group going. I did joke to one of the other wives (who happens to be a doc herself) that I needed a prescription for Xanax since I would soon be going bathing suit shopping and would need medication to get through that shopping excursion. I won't even tell you the fix that she suggested but I will say it's not legal :) Hopefully, this WW is going to pay off a little more before I board a ship and have to parade around in a swimsuit. If not, there's always alcohol...
